Text messaging (SMS) program

Caller-Requested Links & Callback Notifications. The Regional Chamber of Commerce — the Broward County, Miami-Dade County and South Florida chambers, operated by Chamber Approved, Inc. — sends one-to-one text messages only to people who have called one of its chambers or signed up on its opt-in page. A message contains the membership, exhibitor, sponsorship or event registration link the person asked for, or a single callback notification after an inbound call that did not connect. Each message identifies the specific chamber the person called. This is not a marketing or promotional program. No advertising messages are sent, and numbers are never bought or added from lists.

How you opt in

Most text messages start with a phone call the caller makes to one of the chambers; people can also sign up on the Chamber's web opt-in page, where the SMS consent box is optional. During the call, the Chamber's AI receptionist offers to send the link the caller asked about by text message or by email. If the caller chooses text, the receptionist reads the mobile number back digit by digit, reads the disclosure below, and sends the message only after the caller says yes. Calls are recorded and transcribed, which keeps a record of that consent. If an inbound call does not connect, the Chamber may send one callback notification to the number that called; it also carries STOP and HELP instructions. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
