Call Recording Disclosure

This page explains how and why calls placed or received using the Lead Friendly LLC platform may be recorded, transcribed, and retained, and your rights with respect to those recordings.

What we record

Calls placed by or received through the Lead Friendly LLC platform — including AI voice agent calls, manual outbound calls, callback bridges, and inbound calls routed through our telephony interconnect — may be recorded. Recordings include:

  • Two-channel audio (caller and callee on separate channels)
  • Real-time and post-call transcripts produced by automated speech-to-text
  • Call metadata: timestamps, duration, hold/transfer events, hangup reason

Recording happens server-side via the real-time voice infrastructure used by the platform; the underlying provider is listed in our Sub-Processors policy. There is no local capture on your device.

Recording is not unconditional. For human-dialed (rep) calls, when the contact is in a two-party / all-party-consent state — or the contact's state is unknown — recording is automatically disabled unless a deterministic recording announcement is configured for that path. The call still proceeds; it is simply not recorded. AI voice agent calls deliver a recording-consent statement as part of the agent's mandatory opening disclosure (see "Two-party-consent jurisdictions" below).

Why we record

  • Quality assurance and training — AI agent prompt iteration, voice model evaluation, supervisor coaching.
  • Compliance and audit — TCPA / CFPB / FCC required attestation if a regulator or counterparty disputes whether a call took place or what was said.
  • Customer-service evidence — disputes, billing inquiries, account-recovery decisions.
  • Account-holder access — owners of the Lead Friendly LLC account that placed or received the call may listen to or download the recording.

Two-party-consent jurisdictions

Several U.S. states and several non-U.S. jurisdictions require all parties on a call to consent before recording. For AI voice agent calls, when at least one party is in one of these jurisdictions a recording-consent statement is included in the agent's mandatory opening disclosure, which the AI agent delivers at the start of the call before any other conversation:

  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • Pennsylvania
  • Washington

For human-dialed calls (not AI agent), the caller is responsible for delivering the consent disclosure at the start of the call; Lead Friendly LLC does not interject for human callers. To prevent unlawful recording, the Service does not record human-dialed calls into a two-party-consent state — or a contact whose state is unknown — unless a deterministic recording announcement is configured for that path. The call still connects; it is simply not recorded.

If any party objects to the recording, the caller must end the recording (and typically the call) immediately. Continuing to record after an objection in a two-party-consent jurisdiction may be a criminal offense.

How long we keep recordings

Recordings and transcripts are retained for as long as they are needed for the purposes described in "Why we record" above — quality assurance, regulatory attestation, and payment-dispute and chargeback defense — and for any longer period required by law or by an active legal hold. Because recordings are primary evidence in payment-dispute and regulatory matters, they are not deleted on a fixed short schedule; retention tracks the applicable dispute, statutory, and legal-hold windows (see the call-record retention in our Data Processing Addendum and Privacy Policy).

  • Legal-hold retention: retained for as long as a relevant dispute, investigation, or legal-hold notice is open.
  • On account closure: recordings needed for dispute defense or required by law are retained for the applicable window; others are deleted or de-identified.
  • On request: account holders (and call participants, evaluated against legal-hold obligations) may request deletion at any time — see "Deletion requests" below. We honor such requests within 30 days unless retention is required by applicable law or an active legal hold.

Access and export

While your account is active you may listen to or download any recording for which you are the account holder via the call detail page in the Lead Friendly LLC dashboard. Owners of the Lead Friendly LLC account that placed or received a call control access to that recording's playback and download.

If you are a call participant (not an account holder) and want a copy of a recording you participated in, contact the account holder you spoke with first. If they are not responsive and you have a legitimate basis (subpoena, court order, statutory access right), email privacy@leadfriendly.com with the call details and we will respond within 30 days.

Deletion requests

Account holders may request deletion of any recording held by Lead Friendly LLC via the dashboard or by emailing privacy@leadfriendly.com. Requests are processed within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or active legal hold.

Non-account-holder participants may request deletion of recordings they appear in. We will evaluate the request against any legal-hold obligations and respond within 30 days.

Subprocessors involved in recording

Our subprocessor list names every third party that may process call audio or transcripts. The current recording chain flows through the providers identified in that policy under the categories Telephony Interconnect, Real-Time Voice, Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Text, and Object Storage.
