Short answer: No single provider's page answers all four questions a dealer asks before signing: how inventory gets onto the site, how long the build takes, who owns the site and domain, and what it costs. Carsforsale.com's SiteFLEX is the only one stating a build time (3-5 days) and a price ($99/month) on its own page, but not how inventory lands on the site or who owns the domain. Dealer Car Search describes the most detailed lead routing. DealerCenter and DealersCloud point to a demo or quote for pricing. Lead Friendly describes its sync, timeline and ownership split in detail, but is not self-serve.

What "automatic inventory sync" actually has to answer

A dealer shopping for a website provider is really asking four separate questions that get bundled into one: how does a car a dealer adds or sells show up on the site without someone editing a page, how long until the site is live, who owns the site and the domain if the dealer ever leaves, and what does it cost. A provider's marketing page can make the website itself look finished while staying silent on all four.

We read the current public pages of five providers independent and small used-car dealers are likely to be weighing a dealer website against, and recorded what each one's own page states versus what it leaves out. We did not create a trial account, request a demo, or call sales for any of the five; everything below is what is published, as of the date in Sources.

How we scored: Scored 0-5 from each provider's own page (see Sources), not a trial, demo or sales call. A low score means the page does not clearly state that point, not that the feature is missing. Sync and lead routing reward a page that explains the mechanism, not just a feature name.

Scores are our editorial judgment of how clearly each provider's own page answers a dealer's question, not a ranking of which product is best.

Dealer Car Search: the clearest lead routing, the least detail on sync

Dealer Car Search's own site lists "Inventory Import & Distribution" as a website feature and says its Frazer DMS integration "connects directly to your DCS website, so your inventory, leads, and deals move between them," but it does not explain the import mechanism for dealers on a different DMS, or for a dealer entering inventory by hand.

Where its page is detailed is lead handling: it says Lead Management "automatically inserts Leads into your Leads Table" from the dealership website, website texting, classified sites, Facebook Marketplace and Messenger, Craigslist, and call tracking, all manageable "from just one dashboard." No price is published; a customer testimonial calling the price "unbeatable" is not a stated figure, as of October 2026.

DealerCenter: deep product line, light detail on the website itself

30+

third-party marketing sites DealerCenter's own page says a dealer can post inventory to, such as Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp and CarGurus

Source: DealerCenter, Digital Marketing page

DealerCenter's Dealer Websites page, read October 2026, describes Premium Plus and Premium Pro site tiers, vehicle detail pages, a website AI agent, and SEO optimization, but it does not say how inventory reaches those pages, how long a build takes, or who owns the site or domain once built. The page's only lead-handling detail is that the website AI agent can "capture and engage shoppers outside business hours" and that reporting can "determine conversion rates for all lead activity," without saying where a captured lead is sent.

Pricing is not on the Dealer Websites page at all; it links out to a separate Pricing page rather than stating a website figure, as of October 2026. DealerCenter's own Digital Marketing page is where the inventory-posting detail actually lives, naming Facebook, OfferUp and CarGurus by name among more than 30 sites, which is more specific than any of the other four providers' lead-posting claims — just not on the page about the website itself.

DealersCloud: one live inventory feed, a custom-quoted site

DealersCloud's own inventory-feeds page is more specific than Dealer Car Search's or DealerCenter's about the sync mechanism: a unit is "entered once," and "the feeds carry it out to the marketplaces from there," with the dealer website described as reading "the same live inventory the feeds do" rather than a separate catalogue a dealer has to keep in sync by hand. The page names Cars.com, CarGurus and Autotrader among the marketplaces reached, plus TrueCar, KSL and Facebook, and says feeds run "automatically," but it does not state a sync interval or how fast a change shows up.

DealersCloud's features page says a custom website is "connected to your inventory and CRM," with hosting, maintenance and Carfax integration included, but does not describe how a website lead reaches that CRM. Pricing for the website, as for the rest of DealersCloud, is "a custom quote per dealership," as of October 2026; no figure is published.

Carsforsale.com SiteFLEX: the only published build time and price

3-5 days

the SiteFLEX build time Carsforsale.com's own dealer page states

Source: Carsforsale.com, SiteFLEX dealer websites page

Carsforsale.com's dealer-facing SiteFLEX page, read October 2026, is the only one of the five that states a build time in writing: its designers "will build you a stunning website in just 3-5 days." It is also the only one with a price on the page itself, a $99-a-month bundle covering the website, CRM and marketplace access, with the heading reading "Go Premium with SiteFLEX™ for $99" and no stated contract.

What the page does not say is how inventory reaches the site; it only mentions that vehicle pages are "auto-created to account for newly uploaded vehicles," without naming a feed, a DMS connection, or a VIN-scan path. On ownership, the page says Carsforsale.com will host the site "on our secure network" and will "help you purchase or point your domain to your new site," which describes the hosting and domain setup without stating, either way, whether the dealer ends up owning the domain. Lead routing is described in more detail: the page says a dealer can "route leads from any form to a specific inbox" through a Custom Contact module, with phone leads logged separately.

Where Lead Friendly fits: detailed sync and terms, not a self-serve builder

Lead Friendly's own dealership-website FAQ and vs-page copy describe all five points more specifically than the four vendor pages above: inventory for the included-plan site comes from a DealerCenter export delivered on a schedule and matched to the store by Dealer ID, or from a phone VIN scan, with the same inventory also pushed to CarGurus twice a day and sent to Cars.com and Google vehicle listings by feed; a build is typically "two to four weeks from the first working session"; and ownership is stated as a split, not a single answer: a site included in the dealer plan is "built and hosted on Lead Friendly and is yours while you are a customer," while a separately scoped custom build is "owned outright." Price is published on the pricing page rather than requiring a call.

The honest limit: Lead Friendly is not a self-serve template builder. A dealer tells the team what they want and the team builds it; there is no drag-and-drop editor to spin up a site alone this afternoon, which is exactly what Carsforsale.com's 3-to-5-day build and $99 price are aimed at. A lot that wants to be live today, or that wants to edit its own pages without asking anyone, is better served by a template provider; a lot that wants the site, the phone and the CRM reading the same inventory and lead data is the case Lead Friendly is actually built for.

How to shortlist without sitting through five demos

  1. 1

Write down which of the four questions actually blocks you

Sync mechanism, build time, ownership, or price. A lot with 20 cars managed by hand cares about sync; a lot opening next month cares about build time. Few providers answer all four on one page, so ask the one that matters to you directly if the page is silent.

  2. 2

Want it live this week at a stated price? Start with SiteFLEX

Carsforsale.com's own page is the only one of the five naming a build time and a price. Confirm current inventory-sync and domain-ownership terms directly, since neither is on the page.

  3. 3

Already have a trusted DMS feed? Ask how the website reads it

DealersCloud's page is explicit that the site shares the live feed; DealerCenter's inventory-posting detail lives on its Digital Marketing page, not its website page, so ask specifically how the two connect.

  4. 4

Want the site, phone and CRM on one inventory? That is Lead Friendly's case

The tradeoff is a built-for-you site rather than a same-day self-serve one. Read the website FAQ and /pricing before assuming either way.

  5. 5

Get ownership in writing before you sign

None of the five pages we read states plainly who owns the site and domain if you cancel. Ask every finalist that question directly and get the answer in the contract, not just the sales call.

Frequently asked questions

What does "automatic inventory sync" mean for a dealer website?

It means a vehicle you add, price, or mark sold in your inventory system shows up on your website without anyone editing a web page by hand. How that happens varies: a feed file a DMS sends on a schedule, a live database the website and the marketplace feeds both read, or a phone-based VIN scan that creates the listing directly. Several of the provider pages we read name the feature without explaining which of these it is.

Which dealer website provider states its price without a demo call?

Of the five we checked, Carsforsale.com's SiteFLEX page states a $99-a-month bundle price directly (as of October 2026). Lead Friendly's price is published on its pricing page instead of in prose. DealerCenter, DealersCloud and Dealer Car Search all require a demo or a sales call for a number.

How long does it take to build a dealer website?

It depends on the provider and how it builds. Carsforsale.com's own SiteFLEX page states 3 to 5 days. Lead Friendly's FAQ states typically two to four weeks from the first working session, and says the usual delay is waiting on photography and vehicle data rather than the build itself. DealerCenter, DealersCloud and Dealer Car Search do not state a timeline on the pages we read.

Do I own my website and domain, or is it rented from the provider?

Ask directly; it is rarely stated plainly. Lead Friendly's FAQ is the most explicit of the five we checked: a site included in its dealer plan is hosted on Lead Friendly and yours while you are a customer, while a separately quoted custom build is owned outright. Carsforsale.com's page describes hosting the site and helping with the domain without stating ownership either way. The other three providers' pages do not address it.

Can I build and edit the website myself instead of having the provider build it?

None of the five providers' pages we read describes a self-serve, do-it-yourself site editor in enough detail to say how far a dealer could get alone. Carsforsale.com's fast build time and published price point to a vendor-built site delivered quickly rather than a tool a dealer edits unaided. If building and editing the page yourself matters more than inventory sync, a general-purpose website builder outside this list may fit better; our cost guide covers that wider market.
