What Podium costs, from its own pages

• Plans: Core at $399 a month and Pro at $599 a month on podium.com/pricing; Signature is priced by quote.
• AI Employee: "Add on AI Employee to any plan", with no price published. Podium says it works across phone calls, text, email and social from one inbox.
• Phones: Podium Phones carries a $500 network optimization fee per location, and usage rates apply.
• Texting registration: a base 10DLC fee of $5 a month per location.
• Term: Podium's terms of service set a 12-month initial term unless your order documents say otherwise. It renews automatically for the same length unless either side gives written notice at least one month before the end, and subscription fees are non-refundable and non-creditable except in narrow cases the terms list.

Podium alternatives compared (September 2026)

Each row shows which part of Podium the tool replaces, whether an AI answers the phone, and what the vendor publishes about price and terms. No single tool on this list replaces all of Podium, and that is usually the point: most businesses buy Podium for one or two of its jobs.

Pick by the job Podium does for you

• Reviews are the point: NiceJob if you want it simple and cheap, GatherUp if you run several locations or resell to clients. Your Google reviews stay on your Google Business Profile when you leave Podium; only the review-request automation needs replacing.
• Texting is the point: Text Request, or keep texting inside whichever CRM you pick. Lead Friendly and HighLevel both include it.
• Missed calls and new-lead callbacks are the point: Lead Friendly. The AI answers when nobody can, calls a new web lead back, books the appointment and sends the follow-up text, and every call lands on the contact record with a recording and transcript.
• One vendor for everything, reviews included: HighLevel is the closest option with a published price; Weave if you run a practice; Birdeye if you want Podium's breadth and can work from a quote.

What a switch can cost

A single-location business that uses Podium mainly for review requests and missed calls can cover both jobs with NiceJob Starter at $75 a month and Lead Friendly Starter at $49: $124 a month in total, month to month. Podium Core is $399 a month on a 12-month term, before the AI Employee, whose price is not published, and before the network optimization fee on Podium Phones.

The comparison is not like for like. Podium's price includes webchat, payments and one shared inbox, while the pair above means two vendors and two logins. If you use those parts of Podium every day, price them in before you move.

Where Podium is still the better buy

Podium is a mature single-vendor bundle: reviews, webchat, texting, payments and phones in one inbox, with an AI Employee across those channels. If your business runs on reviews and text-to-pay across several locations, and one contract for all of it is worth more to you than the option to leave month to month, Podium is a reasonable choice. Lead Friendly is not a review-management tool; businesses that depend on review volume usually pair it with NiceJob or GatherUp.

Leaving Podium without a gap

1. Find your renewal date on your order form. Under Podium's standard terms, notice of non-renewal is due at least one month before the term ends, and the terms say it can be sent by email to support@podium.com. Check your own agreement first.
2. Set up the replacement before the renewal date, so review requests, texting and call answering do not lapse.
3. Move your contacts with their consent history; texting and AI calling both depend on it.
4. Point your website chat, forms and call tracking at the new tool, then test each one.
5. Keep your phone numbers if you can, because customers have them saved. Ask both vendors how numbers move before you give notice.

For car dealerships

Podium's AI Employee, which it calls Jerry, is pitched at lead response. For a dealership, compare voice first: are after-hours calls answered, are web leads called back within seconds, and do test drives book straight into the calendar? Questions to ask before you sign anything

1. Is the price per location, per user or per account, and what exactly does it include?
2. How long is the first term, does it renew automatically, and how much notice does leaving take?
3. Which parts are add-ons with their own price: the AI, phones, texting registration, payments?
4. Who owns your contacts, reviews and call recordings, and how do you export them if you leave?
5. Does the AI answer the phone itself, or only text the caller back?
