Short answer: Yes, but the four we compared are different kinds of product. On the pages we read in October 2026, OliviaAI (DealerCRM) and DAISI (Space Auto) are assistants built into their own CRMs that can work for your staff and, if you allow it, for customers; Matador is a customer-facing AI layer that runs on a CRM you already own; Genie, ours, is a staff-facing assistant that shows a card before it sends or books. OliviaAI is the broadest. These are vendor statements, not tests: verify them in a demo.
Which products we compared, and why these four
A dealer's question usually sounds like this: is there an AI assistant for a dealership CRM that you can just talk to, to pull up a lead, send a text and book an appointment? When we put that question to an AI search engine on 18 October 2026, it named DealerCRM's OliviaAI, Space Auto's DAISI and Matador. We added Genie, the assistant inside Lead Friendly's CRM, because we make it and want it judged by the same rules.
The first thing worth knowing is that the question hides two different jobs. One is an assistant for your staff: you ask it things and it prepares actions. The other is an agent for your customers: it answers calls and texts leads. Some products do both. The tables below separate them, and we conceded wherever a competitor is the better fit. This guide does not cover the many AI BDC vendors that only work with customers; our voice agents guide does.

What kind of product each one is
| Product | What it is | Who it talks to | Which CRM |
|---|---|---|---|
| Genie (Lead Friendly) | An assistant inside Lead Friendly's own CRM | Your staff. It sends texts, email and WhatsApp and can start an AI call, each after you approve a card | Lead Friendly only |
| OliviaAI (DealerCRM) | An assistant built into DealerCRM, sold as the CRM's AI layer | Staff first. Customers by text, RCS, voice, video, email and web chat if you turn that on | DealerCRM |
| DAISI (Space Auto) | AI agents plus a Copilot chat inside Space Auto's CRM | Staff in Assistant mode; customers by text and email in Agent mode. A phone agent is listed as coming soon | Space Auto's CRM |
| Matador | A customer-facing AI layer, positioned as an add-on to a CRM | Customers by text, voice, chat, email and Instagram. We did not find a staff chat assistant on the pages we read | The CRM you have: 62 integrations listed |
Vendor pages as of 18 October 2026. 'We did not find' means we did not find it on the pages listed in sources, not that it does not exist.
What their pages say about control, price and setup
| Product | Control before it sends | Price on its pages | Trial and setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Genie | A card for every send, booking or save in the app; a spoken yes approves every card on screen. Siri and phone are read-only. Campaigns saved as drafts, automations paused | Published on the pricing page | Free trial, no card needed. Self-serve start |
| OliviaAI | Drafting-only mode offered. Autonomy set per rep. Campaigns built from a sentence show a count and wait for a go. TCPA, DNC and quiet hours enforced by the system, per DealerCRM | Not published: the FAQ says DealerCRM does not publish platform pricing | No trial agreements, but a hands-on sandbox on request. Onboarding roughly 45 to 60 days from contract, as of October 2026 |
| DAISI | A dial: AI off, Assistant or Agent. Follow-up sends can stay pending to edit or cancel. Copilot actions are 'with your approval' | $6/mo shown per agent on its roster, as of October 2026. Platform price not seen | Demo booking. We saw no trial |
| Matador | Agent steps back when a rep joins the thread. Says messages pass verification layers before reaching a customer | None on the pages we read | Says it connects in under an hour and goes live within days (vendor-reported) |
Vendor statements as of 18 October 2026, not independent tests. Verify each on the vendor's site before you decide.
Scorecard: what each product's own pages state
On asking questions about the CRM, Genie scores 4: it reads contacts, the unread inbox, calls, the calendar, inventory, desk math and F&I reports, but contact search matches name, email, phone, company and status, returns ten, and it cannot search saved deals. OliviaAI scores 5 because its pages describe searching the CRM in plain English, building dashboards from a sentence and writing queries. DAISI scores 4, with fewer specifics. Matador scores 1: its pages describe dashboards and reports, not a chat assistant for your staff.
On asking first, Genie, OliviaAI and DAISI each score 4. Genie stops every send, booking and save at a card in the app, but the card is short (a text shows the first 80 characters of the message, a booking shows no customer name) and with voice a single spoken yes approves every card on screen, so we did not give ourselves a 5. OliviaAI and DAISI describe approval for some actions and autonomous modes you can switch on. Matador scores 2: its agents work leads on their own, and its pages describe stepping back when a rep joins rather than approval.
On customer channels, Genie scores 2 because it does not talk to customers itself: it sends on your behalf after you approve, and can start an AI call. OliviaAI and Matador score 5 for the channel lists on their pages. DAISI scores 3: text, email and web chat, with the phone agent listed as coming soon. This row rates Genie alone: Lead Friendly's separate AI agents, which do talk to customers, are not scored here.
On price and a way to try it first, Genie scores 5 for published terms and a free trial. DAISI scores 2: a per-agent price but no platform price we could find, and a demo. OliviaAI scores 1: DealerCRM says it does not publish pricing and offers no trial agreements, but it offers a hands-on sandbox on request. Matador scores 0: we saw no price and only a demo.

How we scored: Our reading of what each vendor's own pages state on 18 October 2026: 0 means not stated, 5 means stated with specifics. It measures what is written, not how well a product works. Lead Friendly makes Genie, so weigh our scores accordingly and check each line in a demo.
Scores describe the pages, not the products.
Where each one is the better choice
OliviaAI (DealerCRM): choose it for a larger or multi-line store (auto, RV, marine, powersports) that wants one platform, wants customers handled by voice, video and RCS as well as text, and wants to search and report on the CRM in plain English. It scores at or above Genie on every row of the scorecard except price. The trade-off, as of October 2026: no published price, no trial agreements (a sandbox is offered on request), and onboarding of roughly 45 to 60 days.
DAISI (Space Auto): choose it if you want agents working your leads unattended with an autonomy dial, a per-agent price you can read, and your website, retail tools and CRM from one vendor. Its Copilot chat is the closest match to Genie in this group. Space Auto also shows figures from 31 dealerships over 15 July to 14 August 2026 (vendor-reported, as of October 2026).
Matador: choose it if you are keeping your CRM, which its pages list among 62 integrations (including VinSolutions, DealerSocket and eLead, as of October 2026), and what you want is an AI that works leads, answers calls and books appointments across text, voice, chat, email and Instagram. As of October 2026 it reports 1,500+ rooftops (vendor-reported). It does not replace your CRM, and we did not find a chat assistant for your own staff.
Genie (Lead Friendly): choose it if you are an independent used-car store that wants to start without a sales process, with published terms and a free trial, and wants an assistant that stops at a card before it sends or books in the app. It is narrower: no voice or video with customers, no plain-English segments, no DMS or lender connection, and it reads Lead Friendly's CRM only.
What Genie cannot do
Each line below was checked against the product code on 18 October 2026, the same day as the competitor pages.
- Contact search matches name, email, phone, company and status and returns ten results. It does not search by vehicle of interest or lead source.
- For texts and email it reads unread conversations, not a customer's whole history, and it cannot list or search saved deals.
- It reads Lead Friendly's CRM only. It has no tool that reads or writes a DMS.
- It does not submit credit applications to lenders. The Dealertrack rail is built against the Dealertrack API and is in certification with Cox, so Genie records a draft and says so.
- Siri and the phone line are read-only. In the app, a spoken yes can approve every card on screen, and Genie reads only the action titles aloud, so read the card on screen before you say it.
- Booking an appointment also texts the customer a confirmation, through the same opt-out and quiet-hours checks as any text. The approval card does not mention that text; we think it should, and we say so here.
- The approval card is short. A text card shows the first 80 characters of the message, a booking card shows no customer name, and a call card shows a contact id.

Five things to ask in any demo
- 1
Find a record the messy way
Give it a first name and what they asked about, not an ID. Can it find the right customer, and can it show what it used? Genie matches name, email, phone, company and status only, so it will not find someone by the car they asked about.
- 2
Ask it to text a customer
Does it stop for your approval or send? Does the approval show the full message and the recipient? Can the setting be changed, and by whom?
- 3
Ask it to text someone who opted out
Opt-out, do-not-call and quiet hours should block the send. Ask to see the block, not a description of it.
- 4
Ask what it cannot do
Listen for specifics: a DMS, lender submission, searches it cannot run. A list of limits is a sign it was tested.
- 5
Ask for price, term and onboarding time in writing
Three of the four did not publish a platform price on the pages we read, as of October 2026.
Methodology
- Scope: Genie plus the three products an AI search engine named when we asked whether there is an assistant for a dealership CRM that a dealer can talk to (18 October 2026). We chose them from the question, not from a market ranking.
- Sources: each vendor's own public pages, opened on 18 October 2026 with a normal browser. We fetched the page text and checked every phrase we rely on against it. We read no reviews and ran none of the products.
- Conflict of interest: Lead Friendly makes Genie. Genie's lines come from our code and competitors' lines only from their pages.
- Dates: vendor pages change. Everything here is as of October 2026; we plan to re-check by January 2027.
- Not covered: pricing negotiated in a demo, results at a real store, and integrations beyond what each page names.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an AI assistant for a dealership CRM that I can talk to?
Yes. On the pages we read in October 2026, DealerCRM's OliviaAI, Space Auto's DAISI Copilot and Lead Friendly's Genie are assistants inside a CRM that staff can ask in plain English. Matador is aimed at customers rather than staff. Which fits depends on whether you will switch CRMs, how much you want it to do without asking, and whether you want a sales process or a self-serve start.
Do any of these send texts without asking me first?
Some can, if you allow it. DealerCRM's FAQ says OliviaAI can run autonomously after hours if the store wants that, DAISI's Agent mode texts and emails customers, and Matador's agents work leads on their own. Genie always asks in the app: every text, email, booking and save shows a card first. The others describe approval for some actions or modes, such as OliviaAI's drafting-only mode and count-and-go campaigns, and DAISI's Copilot actions 'with your approval'. Ask each vendor to show you where the switch is and who can change it.
Which of these works with the CRM I already have?
Matador's pages list 62 integrations, including VinSolutions, DealerSocket and eLead, as of October 2026; verify the current list with them. OliviaAI, DAISI and Genie live inside their own vendors' CRMs, so using one means moving your leads into that CRM.
What does a dealership CRM assistant cost?
It varies and often is not public. DealerCRM states that it does not publish platform pricing. DAISI shows $6/mo per agent on its roster, as of October 2026, and the platform price was not visible. We saw no price on Matador's pages. Lead Friendly publishes its plans on the pricing page. Ask for the total with texts, calls and onboarding included.
How is a CRM assistant different from an AI BDC?
An AI BDC talks to your customers: it answers calls, texts new leads and books appointments. An assistant for your staff answers your questions about the CRM and prepares actions for you to approve. Some products do both. Our guide to AI voice agents for car dealerships compares the customer-facing side.
